The lake city of India, Udaipur is a destination no one should ever miss out. Udaipur, the city in Rajasthan is termed as a historical capital of the erstwhile Mewar empire as it has a lot of historical events associated with it. It has seen wars, battles and change in the reigning kingdoms ever since it was build in the year 1559. With huge balconies, carved arches, pillars walls and corridors, the winsome gardens and terraces the palaces are admired by all its visitors. The palaces are adorned with metal pieces, glass work, and paintings leave you stunned by their details.

The grandeur and heritage of Udaipur is spread out to the local markets and old residential places as well. The marvellous architecture it boasts has a lot of history associated to it. Walking through narrow lanes of the city, the culture is visible in every part. There are colorful houses, the lanes are beautifully houses and shop that look as if they are from a different era and take you back in the history of the Rajputanas. The cuisine is very authentic rajasthani and served with a lot of love.

The city has evolved from having bullock carts to airports with time, but preserves the culture it belongs to. There are several cultural programs with the folk songs and folk dances that happen in the different parts of the city. There is no way one can miss out of these cultural programs.

Udaipur is a home to a lot of beautiful temples too. The most frequented temple in Udaipur is the Jagdish Temple. The temple was built in 1651 to worship Lord Vishnu’s status that was made out of a single gorgeous black stone. The Aryan styled architecture of the 79 feet tall temple is a marvel in itself and an indelible experience.
